immaculate projections

This time of the year Adelaide is always so alive with artists and designers. Every year we host the fringe festival, this year running from the 18 February through to 13 March. Aside from a couple of film, performance and puppetry shows that I plan on seeing, tomorrow I will head to the Light Gallery to see works by Gavin Blake for his exhibition titled 'instant work'. Blake's work is subtly dark and captivating. His series titled immaculate projections is just like nothing I have seen before.

Really inspired by his work and use of film. 
I'll be sure to take my golden half along and try to snap some photos of the exhibition space :)

random moments of creativity

Here is a little bit of fun for you all :-)

Instructions:
1 - Go to Wikipedia and hit random. The first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.
2 - Go to quotationspage and hit random. The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.
3 - Go to Flickr and click on "explore the last seven days". Third picture, no...... matter what it is, will be your album cover.
4 - Use Photoshop or similar (picnik.com is a free online photo editor) to put it all together.

lost in translation

I dont know why, but I am completely mesmerized by the film 'lost in translation'...

I have watched it about 10 times in the last week and I keep searching for a meaning behind it even knowing that there is none. It's just a really nice story.

If you haven't yet seen it, check it out and of course Scarlet Johannson is her usual, graceful self. Such a beauty :)

I saw eternal sunshine of the spotless mind for the first time last week and I can't believe I had gone so long without it. It's funny how after you see a film that really affects you, you start linking parts of your life that happen from then on to the characters, scenes, quotes etc. I am glad it has made its way into my collection. 

It has been a pretty busy couple of weeks (as usual). I have some BIG decisions to make regarding my job which involves moves to other states and even another country >.< eeekk. I have my laser eye surgery in 5 days which I am super excited about. I D.I.Y'd a tee and turned it into an oversized singlet (below) and I won two competions. One over at DAYDREAMLILY where I won a maxi dress from the hanging space and the second a gorgeous little hare brooch from parliamentofone. Bit of good luck or what :-)

Hope everyone has enjoyed the start to the year and have managed to stay inspired and motivated.
