as the year ends

I usually shudder as the end of the year draws closer. The weight of having to make new years resolutions, a fresh start, cleansing your life - but I came to the realization that I had been doing that all along. Setting goals doesnt mean you have to wait for a calendar date, you can start yourself on an amazing journey at any time. 

There are some major things I am looking forward to in the coming months.

1) I will be having surgery on my eyes (LASIK) to correct my vision in January. No more glasses!!! Wooohoooo :-)

2) More photoshoots and time to be creative with my new camera (Canon EOS 60d)

3) Starting in a new work environment and position continuing with a focus on aviation

4) More time to blog - and some awesome giveaways / competitions <3

I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas celebration and that you were able to spend it with those you love.

Here is one of my latest photos (I haven't been able to shoot much lately because I've been sooooo busy) - im selling my Olympus e-30 (including the entire kit) DSLR and getting my hands on a Canon EOS 60D :) I've never really had any issues with my Olympus, its only a year old but it just doesn't feel like me so I thought I'd look around and find a connection to something else. 

I'm really excited not only for new technology but because change always leads you to the unfamiliar, something I'm always hoping for. 

I've also been shooting a bit of film lately (mostly on my golden half) so once I finish the roll of film I will try to get some up here to share. 

Hope everyone is enjoying their November so far. I can't believe how close Christmas is... and the end of the 2010 completely, YIKES!!!

I had the pleasure of working on my first engagement photoshoot for couple Shaun & Antanika last weekend. I had originally planned for the shoot to take place at a parklands however when I arrived at their house it just seemed so perfect to shoot in the yard of their very own house and where they have created a beautiful life for themselves. 

Here are some of my favourites from the session.

I really had such a great time working on some photography that was different to my norm. Also a great chance to test out my new 25mm 2.8 lens :)
